  • Managing 10-person staff and public relations firm for successful cause-related marketing and educational program “National SAFE KIDS Week,” sponsored by Johnson & Johnson.  This annual effort resulted in broadcast coverage by more than 205 media outlets in one day, including ABC World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, CNN, Good Morning America and NBC Nightside.  Extensive print coverage included AP, The Washington Post, USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, TIME Magazine and The Wall Street Journal.  (Awarded Silver Anvil Award by the Public Relations Society of America - the highest honor for public relations excellence.)

  • Managing 10-person staff and successful national launch of child safety seat inspection program, “SAFE KIDS BUCKLE UP,” sponsored by General Motors, through news conference and special event at foot of the U.S. Capitol.  The launch commanded broadcast coverage by more than 200 media outlets in one day, including Good Morning America, CNN, Fox National News, MSNBC and NBC Nightside.  Extensive print coverage included The Washington Post, USA Today and Parade magazine.

  • Consistently placing articles and public service announcements in trade publications and general media, including Prevention, Glamour, Mademoiselle, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today’s Snapshots section.  Secured broadcast placements as well, including Good Morning America, Nightline, Fox’s Not Just News, and hundreds of local TV stations.

  • Garnering national coverage for local clients, including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the cover of Inc. magazine (and nine-page article), USA Today, WIRED, US News & World Report, HOW, Associated Press, Good Morning America and The Today Show.

  • Four years as project director for national awareness campaign promoting proper use of the nation’s emergency medical services, “Make the Right Call,” which was sponsored by three government agencies and supported by more than 20,000 fire and emergency services departments nationwide.  The award-winning program was the first of its kind and sorely needed by the industry.

  • Four years as deputy project director for national awareness programs touting fire safety, injury prevention and national service.
